Import of “MLV” Vaccine from Spain with the permission of, the Government of Sri Lanka to combat Fatal Disease of “PRSS North America’ which have been spreading among pigs since recently, and impending major disaster was averted by distributing the vaccine among the Farms.

Swine Farmers sustained an enormous loss recently as a result of decline in consumption of pork by the Consumers with a rumor published in Electronic media and press that the H1 and N1 Viral fever which is being spread as “Swine Fever”. The Association took immediate action to make the media aware of the truth and stop publishing it further. The Association submitted to the media an interpretation given by the Mr.Dick Thompson, Media Director of World Health Organisation (WHO) and put a halt to the misinterpretation of facts.
